Difference Between Discontinuation and Suspension
- Suspensions are designed for the program's efficacy and demand to be evaluated, and has a maximum duration of 5 years, after which programs should be discontinued or reinstated with relevant changes.

Letters of Position

Approval Process
Proposals should be through the department and college approvals at least 21 business days prior to the Undergraduate and/or Graduate Council due dates.
- Submission
- Initial Review – please plan for up to 21 days at this step pending the number of proposals submitted
- Department/Faculty Committee approval
- College Committee approval
- Undergraduate Council review & advance * (if applicable)
Graduate Council review & advance * (if applicable) - Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs approval OR
Senior Vice President for Health Sciences approval - Executive Committee/Academic Senate approval*
- Board of Trustees approval
- Board of Higher Education notification
- Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU) notification
* 1-2 individuals will be asked to present proposals at the marked committee meetings and should be the same individuals listed in the Coursedog proposal.
